Is it possible to achieve business growth and social impact at the same time?
This is a question that has driven Chris throughout his career.
Chris has extensive experience in international development, having worked with NGOs in Central and South America, where he was involved in community empowerment, environmental restoration, disaster relief and public health initiatives. However, he observed that the NGO sector often faced challenges in scaling their impact due to limited resources and a lack of sustainable funding models.
Seeking a more effective way to drive change, Chris transitioned to the world of VC-backed startups in Europe, where he focused on expanding access to education through digital innovation. Here, he encountered an entirely new set of challenges, with the difficult trade-offs between rapid business growth, customer value, and the companys' purpose.
🔉Alexandra Kick
Can we achieve sustainability in our current system or do we have to rethink (aspects of) it? What we certainly know is that there is a huge knowledge-action gap when it comes to the climate crisis. Alexandra Kick co-founded Thinkubator back in 2021 together with Felix Ambros to bridge this gap and bring more climate science into implementation.
What started with a fellow program around circular economy is now a think tank organized in three pillars: education, research and consulting. Alexandra will talk about circular business models and how established companies as well as startups apply it successfully. With a background in Socioeconomics and Climate Change and Societal Transformation she combines several perspectives while working on sustainability solutions.
