The world is challenged by COVID-19 across all borders. Research in life sciences for space exploration has a long history investigating humans in space vehicles orbiting Earth and in high-fidelity spaceflight analogs. Approaches in identifying and solving medical problems in these extreme environments are of critical nature for mission success. Especially knowledge on isolation effects as well as the development and the application of advanced technologies builds bridges to Earth, and can be of benefit in mitigating health risks associated to the pandemic. To be inspired from space research and to leverage the extensive experience can be seen as added value, now and in the future.
