Located inside an iconic 1950’s Shell service station, Out There is a wine bar and retail shop located in beautiful Sawyer, Michigan.

Out There was founded by three friends: Molly Kobelt, formerly of Chicago’s Field & Florist flower farm and shops, and Penny Duff & Michael Slaboch, previously of the catering and events company The Storehouse.

Our vision is for a bar that feels like the low key daylong house party of our dreams.

A spontaneous glass of wine & oysters on the patio? Check. A casual meal of fresh & seasonal plates inside the light-flooded bar? Also check. A vintage hi-fi, DJ sets, and intimate concerts? Of course. (What’s a party without great music, after all?!)

We’ve got all of that plus our retail shop’s evolving selection of wine & beer, housemade provisions, fresh flowers, books, records, and some of our other favorite daily indulgences to take home with you.
