Hand the Light By G.C.C. began the way many meaningful things do—outside, in motion, and in community. Somewhere between a preference for organic products, and a passion for creativity the idea took shape: to create something that brings that same sense of grounding, warmth, and presence back into everyday life. What began as a simple creative outlet quickly evolved into a handcrafted candle-making company—working with all-natural soy wax, thoughtful organic fragrance blending, and small-batch production rooted in care and experimentation. We were drawn to the process itself: slow, hands-on, and intentionally imperfect in all the right ways. Each candle became less about a single scent and more about an experience—something personal, a little unexpected, and meant to be discovered when lit.

That same philosophy naturally expanded beyond candles.

Today, Hand the Light is a creative workshop company focused on building meaningful, mobile, in-person experiences through artisan craft. We design and host hands-on workshops that bring people together in relaxed, social environments—where guests aren’t simply attending an event, but actively creating something entirely their own. Each workshop is intentionally structured, offering enough guided instruction to feel accessible while remaining open enough for creativity, conversation, and personal expression. We emphasize thoughtfully sourced organic materials and provide all instruction, setup, and cleanup so guests can simply show up and enjoy the experience.

At the center of everything we do is a simple belief: making things by hand changes how people feel. It slows time down. It reconnects people—to each other, and to themselves. And just as important as the craft itself is what it gives back. Over time, we’ve partnered with wineries, cafés, boutique hotels, breweries, and private venues across the East Coast—from New England down through South Carolina—to bring these experiences into spaces where people gather to unwind, connect, and create.
