Hammerspace is a contemporary art platform headquartered in Grand Rapids. We curate site-responsive pop-up exhibitions across a network of seasonal and partner venues, while also operating a year-long artist cohort that provides professional development, critique, community support and exhibition opportunities for emerging and mid-career artists.

Our primary seasonal venue is the Hammerspace Gallery — A residential garage that was transformed into an intimate a white box gallery. We are extending our mission into the wider community to activate non traditional spaces across West Michigan.
