MY PEOPLE BOOKING PRESENTS :

Zulu (USA)

Straight out of Los Angeles, powerviolence band Zulu are here to share their life experiences and make a comfortable environment for everyone they come in contact with.

It almost feels reductive to call Zulu a metallic hardcore band, because their music is so much more than that. Both their 2019 and 2020 EPs are packed with emotional lyrics, spoken-wordpoems and tearful audio clips about the systemic violence that Black Americans are forced to endure under the rule of their country's white nationalist patriarchy.

Their nasty riffs, cop-crushing mosh parts and speckles of powerviolence blast beats are tremendous, but they mostly function as a compelling medium to host their urgent message to white audiences: "It's up to you/And you alone/Make that change."

The latest signing to Flatspot Records, the label released for the first time on vinyl the band’s debut EP Our Day Will Come (2019) and its follow-up My People…Hold On (2020).

Citing influences from Jill Scott to Weekend Nachos, the band’s style is fiercely original laced with heavy breakdowns intertwined with samples of pivotal moments in black culture.

The band has already seen praise from Stereogum, No Echo, and New Noise Magazine, and have a tours with fellow California innovators Scowl.

Zulu carries a strong message, but it’s also about having fun, as Anaiah puts it – “Zulu isn’t a political band at all. I started Zulu because I wanted to be in an all black band and talk about what we go through and been going through. But also celebrating our lives at the same time.”

In 2023 they released "A New Tomorrow ", the band's debut full-length studio album, on March 3rd, by Flatspot Records. It has received positive reviews from critics for the band's ability to mix various genres and moods and has appeared on several best-albums lists for 2023.

Anti-Corpos

Veterans of the hardcore/punk scene, ANTI-CORPOS is blasting stages for more than 20 years. After another successfully BRAZILIAN TOUR on early February 2023, multiple EU/UK tours, and playing Festivals such as VERDURADA, FLUFF FEST, LADYFEST, LDCM FEST and DECOLONOIZE, they will give us the honour of joining this amazing line-up.

Taking this past semester to compose new songs and record some new tracks, we can sure expect new songs on their set-list, which will most likely be heavy as fuck, music genre wise on the direction of bands like “Sepultura”.

FFO: Sepultura, WxHxN, Ragana

Nothing Works

Starting as a temporary duo project in October 2022, NOTHING WORKS happily became a dream 5 piece band in 2023. With members and ex members of bands such as PRIMITIVE LIFE, xCONVICTUSx, DRINK DEEP, BITTER VERSES, PRAISE, EU MATEI PEDRO & BIOMA, they mix 90's indie/alternative with modern (melodic/post) hardcore, combined with sharp/in-your-face political lyrics, a mix that could be roughly described as "heavy melodic hardcore".

With the beginning of their EP recordings since March 2024, the band is bringing a new energy to their scene as an all FLINTA* political band.

Besides very young, in the upcoming months, the band will have the opportunity to be the support band for well known bands in the punk/hardcore & indie/alternative scenes from Mexico, USA and Germany.

The band both wishes that people could have a good time and dance/stage dive to their songs, as well as to learn about political causes and its struggles.

FFO: Gouge Away, Drug Church, Scowl
