Dr. Ulrich Wegmann - with the support of zebris Medical GmbH - teaches the basics of functional theory as well as the significance and impact on the shaping of the occlusion. The possible applications of the JMA-Optic jaw registration system in diagnosis and therapy as well as options for attaching the mandibular sensor system will be demonstrated. In a practical demonstration, the measurement module for “functional analysis” and “digital occlusion analysis” will be shown, from importing the tooth surfaces from the intraoral scanner and matching the data to new display and evaluation options for dynamic occlusion, taking facial symmetry into account. Furthermore, the transfer of measurement data into mechanical and virtual articulators of a CAD system will be demonstrated.

An outlook on the innovative and direct planning and production of therapeutic occlusal aids for stomatognathic rehabilitation is given.
