Welcome to Yannick's Coaching Lab!

You'll get to learn from interesting and experienced practitioners, connect with other coaches and generally have some fun and experiment in a safe and confidential environment.

Your host for the evening

Your host and facilitator is Yannick Jacob, professional coach, trainer and supervisor with over a decade of experience. Yannick is a published coaching author, teaching faculty at Cambridge University, Course Director of the acclaimed ACIC and former Programme Leader of the MSc Coaching Psychology at the University of East London.

Featured Coach

This month's guest is none other than Yours Truly, the Lab's Founder, Yannick Jacob. I've known Yannick for, well, all my life. He's been instrumental in shaping not just my coaching approach, but has been a leading voice for existential coaching. He's the author of An Introduction to Existential Coaching and has been training and supervising existential coaches for the past decade. I figured it's been some time since Yannick stepped into the Lab as a coach, and last time the client decided to pull the recording since it got a little deeper than we had anticipated, so here I am, excited about what will happen this time, and looking forward to welcoming you to this session.

Bio & Approach:

Yannick Jacob is a Coach, Trainer & Supervisor with Masters degrees in Existential Coaching and Applied Positive Psychology. He is part of the teaching faculties at Cambridge University and the International Centre for Coaching Supervision, and he’s the Course Director of the School of Positive Transformation’s Accredited Certificate in Integrative Coaching, for which he gathered many of the world’s most influential coaches and earliest pioneers. Formerly Programme Leader of the MSc Coaching Psychology at the University of East London, Yannick now presents at conferences internationally and his book, An Introduction to Existential Coaching, was published by Routledge. Committed to helping other coaches be the best coaches they can be, Yannick founded and hosts Yannick’s Coaching Lab which gives novice and seasoned coaches an opportunity to witness experienced coaches live in action, and he is the host of Animas Centre for Coaching's popular podcast Coaching Uncaged, as well as his own podcasts Talking about Coaching and Talking about Coaching and Psychedelics.

About the Lab:

Join us for an inside-look into the inner workings of coaching, find out how and why coaches make certain decisions and how they choose their interventions. You get to witness how the client is experiencing different coaching approaches and we hope you'll get lots of inspiration for your own coaching practice.

After the fishbowl and discussion you'll get a chance to work in triads (coach, client, observer) with the other attendees so that you can take your insights and ideas for a spin, experiment with some new tools and techniques or simply practice some coaching and get some valuable feedback on your work from fellow professional or curious lay clients. Talking about coaching in small groups and sharing our learning with the rest of the group afterward will help us all grow our understanding, knowledge and coaching skills.

Plan for the evening:

  • 6:30 Welcome and networking
  • 6:45 Live coaching session
  • 7:30 Debrief & group discussion
  • 8:15 Optional practice sessions in triads/breakout rooms
  • 9:00 Sharing Insights
  • 9:30 Finish

Session recordings - where coach and client give their permission for the session to be used for training purposes (they will have 1 week post-event to veto or request edits), recordings will be made available to members. This also means that by participating in the Q&A and discussion you agree to be recorded.
