SUMMARY OF THE FESTIVAL

Nuomenart (from the Greek νοούμενον - the essence grasped by the mind) is the art of creating new meanings, the play of thought through the art form, the revelation of the intelligible through play, that is, through art. The noumenographer is neither an artist nor a philosopher. He uses only the means of philosophy to comprehend new meanings, and artistic means to give them sensuous contours. He opens a new eidos through emotion, bringing pleasure to himself and others through the emotional experience of previously unknown meanings.

The Noumen ART Creative Lab Public Sessions/Festivals are a series of annual multi-disciplinary cultural events showcasing the most talented and innovative creations of contemporary artists in the fields of music, visual arts, performing arts, screen arts, synthesis of the arts, literature and poetry, including those based on regional and ethnic artistic traditions.

The Noumen ART Festival, formerly known as the Festival of Contemporary Intellectual Art, has been held since 2005. The previous XI International Festival Noumen ART took place in August 2022 in Osttirol, Austria

BREAF

The autumn season of 2023 will be truly exceptional. This time the magnificent soundscapes of the mountain ranges will reverberate with the enchanting trumpet of Nils Petter Molvaer, the transcendental guitar riffs of Eivind Aarset and the piano virtuoso David Helbock. These remarkable artists are true devotees of the ECM style, and their performances will be the the most beautiful sound next to silence...

Emerging from the mysterious caves of Cluj-Napoca, the rebellious verses of Nietzsche's Zarathustra will evoke a sense of nostalgia for the legendary hits of Led Zeppelin. At the same time, the mesmerising jazz improvisations of musicians from the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Poland, France, Spain, Georgia, Russia and Argentina will blend organically with the gentle whisper of the Mediterranean.

As if from nowhere, the breath of the distant Central Asian steppes will penetrate the rock labyrinths, accompanied by the striking installations of the daring Kazakh actionists led by the brilliant Almagul Menlibayeva and Askhat Akhmediarov

The peculiar voices of the Amazonian forests will take festival-goers on a phantasmagorical journey to otherworldly realms. At some point, however, they will be captivated by the gentle, mimodramatic mysteries of Japanese Butoh. For those with nerves of steel, a glimpse of the darkest predictions of humanity's future will be revealed in the prehistoric caves of Cluj-Napoca.

In addition, the festival promises a host of other extraordinary feats that will delight and captivate the mind and imagination.

Welcome to our realm of artistic mind games!

An integral part of the festival NOUMEN ART - Cluj-Napoca'24 will be the "green theme", which we are implementing in partnership with the project Greentreesplanet.com, acting under the auspices of the international environmental movement ECOLOGI.COM

By combining attending the festival with the planting of green spaces, we aim to address local environmental issues, achieving the twofold goal of promoting environmental sustainability and supporting artistic creation inspired by the beauty and harmony of nature, and we hope that our example can be followed by other cultural events in Europe and the world

As part of our NOUMEN ART Festival, each visitor will be invited to plant their own fruit trees on the ranch and decorate them with name tags. The ranchers will carefully care for each cuttings planted and in six months will report back to the person who planted them on how they are growing by providing a video report. Over the years, the cuttings will grow into branching trees bearing life-giving fruit, experimentation in the arts will become mainstream and classic, lavishing the world with the fruits of culture

All Festival guests are rewarded with Green Trees NFT bonuses, which are steadily increasing in value

The autumn season of 2023 in Cappadocia will be special: this time the echoes of the mountain ranges will reflect the enchanting voice of the trumpet of Nils Petter Molvaer and the transcendent guitar riffs of Terje Rypdal and Eivind Aarset, the great heroes of ECM Style. It will be the most beautiful sound next to silence...

And from the mysterious Cappadocian caves, the rebellious texts of the Nietzschean Zarathustra will sound, somewhat reminiscent of the hits of the legendary Led Zeppelin, and the bewitching sounds of jazz improvisations of musicians from Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, France, Azerbaijan will organically merge with the bizarre silhouettes of the Cappadocian rocks

Appearing out of nowhere, the breath of the distant Central Asian steppes will burst into the labyrinths of rocks along with amazing installations of desperate Kazakh actionists led by the brilliant Almagul Menlibayeva. And under the tents of nomadic yurts, the lighting magic of visual art will sparkle with unimaginable colors, and, having spread to the domes of balloons, it is carried high into the sky...

The outlandish voices of the Amazonian forests will make your stay at the festival reminiscent of a phantasmagoric trip to other worlds, and then you will freeze in anticipation of the leisurely, mimadramatic mysteries of the Japanese butoh. And those with nerves of steel will hear the gloomiest prediction about the future of mankind, which can only be voiced, hiding in the prehistoric grottoes of Cappadocia... There will be many other accomplishments, strange, delightful, captivating the mind and imagination...
