Reimagine Brussels through Arts & Seeds
Do you ever go to work, your local shop or your child’s school and think: This spot really could be so much nicer. How would you redesign it, if you could? Would you add trees? Would you replace the parking with a picnic spot? Or turn the abandoned yard into a community garden? Why not let your imagination run free?
Join us on Sunday, 5 May, 1pm, for another IQ Unplugged workshop. But buckle up, this edition will be more hands-on than usual – and kids-friendly.
Unleash your inner artist
We will make collages (or drawings, paintings, etc – up to you!) that beautify the streets, squares and spots of Brussels. We’ll do this “vision-board” style with magazines, scissors and glue, as well as stickers, paint, drawings and more.
You will later have the opportunity to submit your artwork to Citizen Spring's call (by 7 June), to be exhibited between 8-15 July.
Important: By 1 May, send us a photo of a real place here in Brussels that you want to reimagine. If you have any magazines you'd like to share with the group, please bring them too.
Unleash your inner gardener
To take one small step from our imagination towards its real-life manifestation, we will also combine this with a seedball-making workshop (at the same time and place). Seed balls are little balls of soil, clay and seeds. When you throw or drop them somewhere and it rains, some of the seeds will sprout, take root and hopefully make your neighbourhood greener, cooler and more delicious.
Important: If you have any seeds you'd like to spread, bring them!
