WHY SHOULD YOU GO?
Liepnitzsee is one of the clearest and most beautiful lakes you can find in all of Brandenburg. The clear water reminds of Swedish lakes and Norwegian fjords with the most scenic view on a tiny island in the middle of the lake. Our tour will take us through the beautiful old beech forest (Buchenwald) that surrounds the lake. During the tour we’ll have plenty of opportunities to take breaks, soak up nature and enjoy the awesome views.
Our hike will take us along marshes and many smaller lakes. After exploring the west shore of Liepnitzsee we will reach the Northern peak where we can enjoy our group picnic on the beach. Maybe the snacks you bring could be inspired by Swedish dishes. Cinnamon rolls or Köttbullar for the win! The very brave amongst you will have the chance to take a dip in the clear water of the lake.
After our picnic we’ll walk along the shore and pass by the Regenbogensee (rainbow lake) before heading back to Wandlitz where we’ll grab some food (both veggie-friendly or homemade currywurst) and home-brewed local beers. The Brauhaus Wandlitz (just next to our train station) is the perfect location for that. Here we’ll reminisce about the day’s great nature and community experience.
