Die Tonleiter zieht sich als roter Faden durch dieses Konzertprogramm. Arvo Pärt und Josquin Desprez haben ihr mit Solfeggio und Ut Phoebi radiis jeweils ein ganzes Stück gewidmet. Sie bildet das Rückgrat von Josquins dreiteiligem Miserere und ist – zusammen mit dem Dreiklang – das Material, aus dem Pärt seine musikalischen Texturen webt.
