Come to MEME Final Show at the MEME Youth Rock Camp Exchange on Saturday 28th July in the Landesmusikakademie, FEZ, Wuhlheide in Berlin-Treptow at from 15.00 to 17.00.
Entrance is free and donations are welcome.

The venue is wheelchair accessible and children are welcome (consider bringing noise cancelling headphones).
From 22. to 29. July 2018 60 campers aged 16 to 30 and 30 leaders from eleven music camps in ten countries come together in Berlin to collaborate on the MEME (Music Empowerment Mobility Exchange) Youth Rock Camp Exchange. MEME is a collaboration between lead partner Stelpur Rokka, Iceland; host organisation Ruby Tuesday e.V, Germany; host organisation OPA / Femix, Serbia and sending organisations Fundacja Pozytywnych Zmian, Poland; Girls Rock Dublin, Ireland; Girls Rock London, UK; Girls Rock! Finland, Finland; JM / LOUD, Norway; Pink Noise, Austria: Popkollo, Sweden and Stowarzyszenie Kobieca Transsmisja, Poland.
All these organisations are active in youth empowerment through music and come from the tradition of girls rock camps; they are all committed to empowering girls, women, trans, and gender non- conforming people using the tools of music and arts education to foster community and build power.
Over seven days campers will get to know each other, learn instruments, play in bands, learn about media making and documentation and organising and community building. We will use the “Do It Together” methodology as practiced by girls rock camps. Our methods focuses on guiding each other to see the possibilities that lie within the situation, the instrument, the equipment and the group.
Campers and leaders attending MEME will gain concrete skills in music making, media making and organising and knowledge about gender diversity, anti-oppression and social inclusion.
The MEME Final Show will present the music the bands have made and some of the documentation from the media and documentation teams.
MEME acknowledges that girls and women, transgender people and gender non-conforming people face hurdles in society. To address this imbalance and to achieve our goals, both activities are for the following people: both cisgender and transgender girls and women; trans and gender non-conforming youth and adults including trans boys and men, intersex youth and adults, people who generally have fewer opportunities and role models within music scenes and society in general. The MEME Final Show is open to all genders.
MEME Seminar & Network Exchange takes place in Belgrade, Serbia from 19. to 23. September.

Auður Viðarsdóttir, Stelpur Rokka! and MEME project leader: Facilitating artistic and social exchange across European and international borders is essential to our long term goal of transforming music scenes and society now and tomorrow by advancing participation of girls, transgender and gender non-conforming people. Through both the MEME Youth Rock Camp Exchange in Berlin, Germany and the MEME Seminar and Network Exchange in Belgrade, Serbia we intend to accelerate this process.
Maebh Murphy, Ruby Tuesday e.V. and MEME project leader: We look forward to hosting the first MEME Youth Rock Camp Exchange in Berlin this July and working alongside other like-minded organisations active in youth empowerment through music and creativity with the intention of fostering new attitudes towards creative processes and developing power through each other.
