OUR AMAZING GUESTS CONNECTED TO GERMANY

She writes poems and stories. She says her body is German, her heart is Spanish and her words are mostly English. She swims in cold lakes year round, hosts poetry workshops and book clubs.

- Japhet Johnstone| poet |He is an American living in Berlin.

Japhet tries to find the poetry in the 1000s of words that cross his desk daily as a translator. After an intense relationship with German literature in his 20s and 30s, he laid down his pen for several years. A recent bout of nostalgia sent him excavating old journals for lyrical moments in his past. A few rough gems have surfaced and inspired him to resume attempts at bringing pen to paper.
