Hive Theatre Workshop

Hive Theatre Workshop

Overview

An 8 week theatre workshop in English for all levels!

What this workshop entails?

The workshop is composed of 8 sessions and each session is 2 hours long. The workshop is a bundle of these 8 sessions and can only booked as a whole and not each session seperately. The sessions are constucted in a continuum way and every time we will build one the skills we developed previously.

Our goal is our participants to receive a well-rounded theatrical training through a variety of exercises and games. We will focus on:

  • improvisation
  • character creation
  • approaching theatre texts
  • stage presence
  • ensemble work
  • physicality and movement
  • vocal training

We aim to create a safe space where all participants will feel free to experiment, express themselves, and create—both individually and as part of the group.

For whom is this workshop?

For everyone intrested in theatre practice. You don't need to have previous experience to join the workshop. We will start with the basics and follow a pace comfortable for everyone. Our sessions are tailored to the needs of the participants and are based heavily in ensemble work and group dymanic, which means that people with or without experience can fuse and create together.

Who directs the workshop?

Maria Karamoutsiou (they/them) as movement coach.

Maria is a performer, mover, music artist and educator. They focus on the relationship between body and (public) space, as well as the question of representation and suppression of the human body. Since 2021 They perform as Drag King Alexander The Dick in the Berlin and carry out various projects for and with the FLINTA* community.

&

Effie Charalampidou (she/her) as acting coach.

Effie is a theatre director-therapist and -educator. Her practice combines physicality, ensemble work and theatrical play with an interest in identity, emotional intimacy, empowerment and voices that challenge conventional social narratives. For her theatre is a space where people can experiment with who they are.

*This is a safe space for all and there will be not tolerated any form of transphobia, homophobia, sexism, racism, or any form of abuse and non consensual miscondact!
