During the last couple of years across the board, regulators, corporates, investors and other stakeholders increasingly recognized their importance regarding the fight against the world’s most intractable problems. Corporates and investors are slowly but steadily deviating from Milton Friedman’s maxim of profit maximization. The positive contribution a business can make on society is no longer divorced from the pursuit of shareholder value. Quite the opposite, more and more investors actively seek companies that can demonstrate their societal and environmental contribution, in recognition that these companies are most likely to outperform their peers.

HHL welcomes Marisa Drew, Chief Sustainability Officer and Global Head of Sustainability Strategy, Advisory & Finance (SSAF) at Credit Suisse, to a most insightful fireside chat with our dean Stephan Stubner.

The following topics will be highlighted and exploratively discussed in the Talk:

Marisa Drew is the Chief Sustainability Officer and Global Head of Sustainability Strategy, Advisory and Finance at Credit Suisse since October 2020. Considered an industry trailblazer, Marisa is one of the few women to have run an investment bank – for a global bank. She has been recognized by the BBC as one of the Most Powerful Women in Britain and by Fortune Magazine as one of the 50 Most Powerful Women in International Business.
