About this event
Creativity is becoming a survival strategy and key competence in an increasingly complex knowledge society, and this also applies to urban development. Creativity means not only the generation of new ideas and innovation, but nowadays above all the implementation of these, so that they also produce an effect. The discourse on creativity in cities has been going on for decades in urban development (Landry, Florida et al). What is new, however, is that cities today have become Big Data producers. Never before has so much data been digitized and made available to experts and civil society on urban data platforms. The big data treasures in cities are far from being well used to support sustainable urban development. Therefore, we need a new creative data thinking and acting. Are our brains ready for it yet? What does creativity mean when dealing with urban data? What communication do we need to bring different actors together to develop city sustainably together? How can data foster interdisciplinarity to develop more holistic concepts for cities of the future?
