It isn’t easy to build a startup. And building one for female health is even harder. Yet there has never been more interest in doing so: this subset of technology is on the rise, fueled by a massive innovation and funding gap - and driven by a lot of very enthusiastic individuals!

I offer three courses about Femtech - one for for those who are curious, one for you who are just starting out as an entrepreneur and this one for you who are deeply involved.

About me: I co-founded Clue, a period tracking app, in 2012, where I served as CEO for a decade and as Chairwoman. Together with my co-founder and then life partner I raised $60m in venture capital. The app is used by over 10 million people in 190 countries. Clue got FDA clearance as the world’s first all digital contraceptive and has done numerous science collaborations with world renowned research institutions globally. In 2016 I coined the term Femtech to bring more awareness to all the startups building in this space - and to help us find each other.

I graduated from the business school The KaosPilots, a school for social innovation in 2004 and founded two startups before Clue (jewelry and motorcycle tours). I also published a book about a solo desert motorcycle trip in 2008 and have two kids. I am from Denmark but live in Berlin, Germany, half of the time with my kids, half of the time with my American boyfriend (as life goes!)

Now I spend my time on writing a book about Femtech, giving talks and mentoring founders. Maybe I’ll start all over again some day, and build a new company - in Femtech of course :-) Until then it’s a real pleasure an honour to share and learn from others in the ecosystem. I am looking forward to getting to know you! All genders are welcome.
