Cryptocurrencies and Distributed Ledger Technology:
Strengths, Weaknesses, Threats and Opportunities for the Global Economic Order
We are delighted to have Yaya J. Fanusie, adjunct fellow at FDD’s Center on Economic and Financial Power visiting Hamburg. Cryptocurrencies and Distributed Ledger Technology enable new ways to transfer value and are bringing about unique new business models to the world. But as with most technological innovation, these new tools also bring risks. In his presentation, Mr. Yaya J. Fanusie, a former U.S. counterterrorism analyst, will discuss how this technology could benefit society while highlighting the very real threats from bad actors who want to exploit it.
Yaya J. Fenusie will share insights from his research and findings on the topic. His presentations will be followed by a panel discussion with Marc Buckley, Advocate for the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Flemming Moos, Date Protection Lawyer and Partner with Osborne Clarke. The discussion will be moderated by Moritz Schildt from the Hanseatic Blockchain Institute.
