Labor Neunzehnis a small two-room atelier located on the 4th floor of a former factory in Berlin-Treptow with a focus on musical composition, philosophy and expanded cinema. Besides the regular use for work purposes, the atelier is employed on an irregular basis as an independent curatorial platform and a non-profit space for the production and presentation of artistic projects, exhibitions, screenings, workshops or collaborative research works.Labor Neunzehn is devoted to three main curatorial programs.The “Exhibition Series” aims to explore the use of sound and visual materials as a media for critique and reflection about politics, society and culture today.The film screening program “Kamera” presents avant-garde films and experimental documentaries in a continuous thematic row within particular time-frames.“Cluster” aims to discuss the practices of notation and recording at the intersection point between composition, performance and the listening experience through a number of laboratories and open rehearsals that address new music and instrumental research.

After the pleasant inauguration at the <A HREF="http://www.projectspacefestival-berlin.com/portfolio/labor-neunzehn-event-en2016/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">PSF Berlin</A>, Labor Neunzehn is glad to introduce "Cluster #2", the second concert of the series devoted to new music and live electronics performance.
On November 6th, the guitarist <A HREF="http://matthiaskoole.seminalrecords.org" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Matthias Koole</A> and the composer <A HREF="http://www.stefanprins.be" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Stefan Prins</A> will perform a 2-acts concert that will start in a duo (e-guitar + live electronics) before expanding, in the second part, into a quartet with <A HREF="http://www.jackadlermckean.eu" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Jack Adler-Mckean</A> (tuba) and Matthew Conley (trumpet).
“Cluster” is a music series devoted to sound investigation with a particular focus on contemporary languages, new music and extended techniques. "Cluster" supports the collaborative work and aims to offer an exchange platform for musicians, composers and electronic music performers in Berlin-Treptow.

MATTHIAS KOOLE Matthias Koole is a guitarist active in different areas of experimental music. At this moment he lives in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. He is part of the contemporary music ensemble SCHLAG!, of the experimental music trio Infinito Menos part of the guitar duo Oh Mensch and active in various dance projects.  He is also member of the experimental music label/production houseSeminal Records, through which he organises sô(m) -encontro internacional de arte sonora and, with Henrique Iwao, QI – Quartas de Improviso. He was a founding member of the guitar quartet ZWERM and guest musician in ensembles like Ictus, Champ d’Action, Nadar, Cairn, Lucilin, Brussels Philharmonic, Orquestre Philharmonique de Luxembourg. Matthias was awarded a Stipendienpreis at the Internationale Ferienkurse für Neue Musik in Darmstadt (2010) and was resident at Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart (2013-2015). <A HREF="http://matthiaskoole.seminalrecords.org" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">matthiaskoole.seminalrecords.org </A>
STEFAN PRINS After graduating as an engineer, Stefan Prins (Belgium, 1979) studied fulltime piano and MA in Composition. Concurrently, he studied  Music Technology, Philosophy of Technology and Sonology at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, Royal Conservatory of The Hague and the University of Antwerp. Since 2011 Stefan pursues a PhD in composition at Harvard University under the guidance of Chaya Czernowin. He received several important international awards, such as the “Kunstpreis Berlin für Musik”, “Kranichsteiner Musikpreis für Komposition”, “ISCM Young Composers Award” or the “International Impuls Composition Award. His music is performed worldwide on festivals such as Donaueschinger Musiktage, Darmstadt Ferienkurse, Wittener Tage für Neue Musik, Eclat, Warsaw Autumn, Gaudeamus Festival, Musica Strasbourg, Ars Musica, Tzlil Meudcan, Impuls Festival, HCMF &amp; Ultima Festival by a.o. Nadar Ensemble (of which he’s co-artistic director), Klangforum Wien, Nikel Ensemble, Trio Accanto, Ensemble Mosaik, Ensemble Dal Niente, Ensemble Recherche. Besides composing, Stefan also performs regularly in the improvised music scene (electronics). JACK ADLER-MCKEAN Following studies in Manchester and Hannover, Jack Adler-McKean devotes his life to promoting the tuba to the outside world as a serious musical voice. Recent work includes collaborations on new works for microtonal tuba with composers including Georges Aperghis, Michael Finnissy and Georg Freidrich Haas, projects with Klangforum Wien, Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin and Staatstheatre Darmstadt (solo tuba/euphonium/alto trombone for Luigi Nono‘s “Promoteo“) and seminars at establishments including the University of Oxford, Royal College of Music and Columbia University (New York). His work as an orchestral musician includes performances and recordings with the WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln, Hamburger Sinfoniker, Aalborg Sinfoniorkester and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra under conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Donald Runnicles and Heinz Holliger, as well as with Spira Mirabilis, Kammerakademie Potsdam and the Berliner Domkantorei on the predecessors to the tuba, the serpent and the ophicleide.  MATTHEW CONLEY An active performer of contemporary music, Matthew has appeared as soloist for Matthias Pintscher’s Sonic Eclipse at the 2011 “cresc… Biennale für Moderne Musik” in Frankfurt am Main and the 2012 Slowind Festival in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He has performed with musikFabrik (Köln), the Ensemble Modern Orchestra (Frankfurt am Main and Salzburg), the Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin, and Ensemble Courage (Dresden), among others. Matthew holds a B.M. from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. In 2010 he completed a Master’s degree in Solo Performance at McGill University, where he studied with Edward Carroll. Additionally, Matthew has worked intensively with Markus Stockhausen and studied four consecutive summers at the Center for Advanced Musical Studies at Chosen Vale.
