This workshop is designed for complete beginners who want to learn the basics of sewing. No prior experience is needed!

Do I need to bring anything?

We provide all materials, including fabric, thread, needles, and sewing machines. If you have a specific fabric or project in mind, feel free to bring it! Since Mottainein is all about reusing material, if you have fabric at home that you want to repurpose, bring it with you.

To ensure individual attention, we limit the workshop to 6 participants.

Yes! The workshop is suitable for ages 9 and up. Children under 9 must be accompanied by an adult.

What if I’ve never used a sewing machine before?

No problem! We’ll guide you step by step, ensuring you feel comfortable using it.

What happens if I can’t finish my project?

We’ll provide guidance on how to complete it at home, and you’re welcome to join future sessions for extra help.

Bismarckstr. 3 is my inspiring atelier, where I create my own pieces and have a comfortable space for receiving a small group to sew, but also chat, have a coffee, a tea... Located in West Berlin, one station away from Zoologischer Garten (U2 and U9).
