<h3>A Special Edition of DINNER SOCIAL CLUB</h3>DINNER SOCIAL CLUB meets BERLIN SHANGHAI NIGHTCo-hosted by Lavia Lin – a Berlin-based artist, cultural manager, and proud Shanghainese – this special gathering marks a deeply personal occasion: the 30th anniversary of the House of Blues &amp; Jazz, a legendary venue in Shanghai run by her family, and a cultural home to generations of expats, musicians, and creatives.The idea for Berlin Shanghai Night first came to life in 2022, in the middle of the pandemic, a time when many of us longed for connection, for home, and for shared culture. The plan was to make it a recurring event, but like many dreams, it was paused by global uncertainties.Now, it’s time to pick it up again—because we have something worth celebrating. <h3>What is Berlin Shanghai Night?</h3>Berlin Shanghai Night is a social gathering that brings together people connected not only to Shanghai, but also to China at large—those who have lived there, worked there, loved it, missed it, or are simply curious to explore its vibrant soul.Whether you’re nostalgic for old lanes and street food, eager to reconnect with others who’ve lived between worlds, or simply drawn to Shanghai’s cosmopolitan energy: this evening is for you.It’s a night to celebrate memories, encounters, and the ongoing cultural dialogue between Berlin and China. Through food, music, and conversation, we aim to (re)create the energy of Shanghai—a city where tradition meets modernity and where cultures converge effortlessly.Berlin Shanghai Night is not only about looking back; it's about reimagining the Shanghai spirit as something alive, evolving, and very much present—right here in Berlin.

We’re honoring 30 years of the House of Blues &amp; Jazz—a cornerstone of Shanghai’s music scene and a second home for locals and expats alike. Having grown up at The House of Blues &amp; Jazz, she continues to create spaces where music, art, and culture come together.</li><li>Katja &amp; Jan, a cultural mediator and a photographer, called Shanghai home for 16 years. After relocating to Berlin, they realized their dream of creating a space for cross-cultural encounters by founding <a href="https://c-space.eu/" title="https://c-space.eu/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">C*SPACE</a>, an inspiring venue in a former furniture factory in Berlin-Weißensee.</li><li><a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/martinabeszedesova/" title="https://www.linkedin.com/in/martinabeszedesova/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Martina</a>, born in Slovakia but ‘made’ in Asia, where she spent 15 amazing years living in Shanghai and Tokyo. She is a freelance event producer, a passionate advocate for social and environmental impact, a craft enthusiast, and a proud dog mom to a Shanghai rescue-come-therapy-dog called Milo. </li></ul>
