At the outset of 2020, teatreBLAU started working on a multinational production dealing with the topic of dictatorship and memory. Artists from Spain, Germany, Argentina, Chile, Syria and the UK used their research to develop elements of an artistic response, and the first rehearsal phase for a multilingual film and dance performance was to take place on the stage of the Centre d‘Investigació Escènica (C.I.N.E.) in Sineu / Mallorca. Then Corona arrived and from one day to the next and only digital rehearsals could be done.The second rehearsal phase and the premiere of the play Close up/Zoom out took place again in an analogue format at T-Werk in Potsdam, and further interviews and texts from a Potsdam perspective were added. In the following years, the piece was repeatedly adapted and brought to new locations, where the guiding questions were further developed from the perspective of the respective inhabitants and incorporated into new choreographic scenes. In the context of gLOKALE 2024, dancers Andrea Cruz and Marc de Pablo will present a completely new variation in cooperation with C.IN.E and Arts en Viu. The festival gLOKALE 2024 – “On Places” – explores little-known sites for a wide audience, and by artistic narratives and projections brings them to vivid life in the depth of their history. teatreBLAU aims to take its local and international audience on a journey to special sites and invite it to reflect on how we inhabit places and attach ourselves to them.There are five gLOKALE 2024 events being planned at it to reflect on how we inhabit places and attach ourselves to them.Kleistforum in Frankfurt (Oder)/Germany, Club Pollença in Pollenca/Mallorca; at Theater am Rand in the Oderbruch region/Germany; at Sardegna Teatro in Cagliari/Italy; at Teatro del Sótano, Barcelona/Spain, and at Frontón in Sineu/Mallorca.
