Teatro del Sótano from Barcelona / Spain will show, adapted to the virtual format, a shortened version of their play Irse | Leaving, that deals with migration and the memory of objects. When people have to leave their home, what do they take with them? And what significance will objects have, once they are isolated from their former context? Things that have lost their former place typically end up in the basement and can also be turned into poetry.In the play, two actresses who represent the child and adult version of one same person, open boxes in a basement and talk about the things that come into view. With each thing, a window opens in different parts of the world, and the participants will respond live online from their place - they will show photos, views of their surroundings, and they will also have some lines to talk or to recite. The audience gets an idea of the memories contained in an object, and of the places a person is carrying in their memories.Some scenes of the play will be in Spanish, others in English, reflecting the essence of Teatro del Sotano which is a multinational group. Irse will be shown and streamed live on the Digital Stage, all the audience will take part online. In order to allow for interaction, a subsequent discussion will invite everyone to come in with their comments, questions and ideas.This ticket is valid for attending the event online. The festival gLOKALE 2024 – “On Places” – explores little-known sites for a wide audience, and by artistic narratives and projections brings them to vivid life in the depth of their history. teatreBLAU aims to take its local and international audience on a journey to special sites and invite it to reflect on how we inhabit places and attach ourselves to them.There are five gLOKALE 2024 events being planned at it to reflect on how we inhabit places and attach ourselves to them.Kleistforum in Frankfurt (Oder)/Germany, Club Pollença in Pollenca/Mallorca; at Theater am Rand in the Oderbruch region/Germany; at Sardegna Teatro in Cagliari/Italy; at Teatro del Sótano, Barcelona/Spain, and at Frontón in Sineu/Mallorca.
