Evelyn's Butterfly Effect

Evelyn’s Butterfly Effect is a community initiative created in loving memory of Evelyn Gibson, who tragically died by suicide in 2022 aged just 15. Evelyn was known for her kind heart and Evelyn’s Butterfly Effect honours her legacy by encouraging random acts of kindness, connection and positive change around mental health.

The butterfly effect is the idea that even the smallest action can lead to big changes over time. Imagine a butterfly flapping its wings—it might seem tiny, but that movement could set off a chain of events that eventually causes a storm far away. Kindness works the same way. One simple, thoughtful act can create ripples that reach further than you’ll ever know. Nothing you do is too small to matter. Every kind word, every helpful gesture adds something positive to the world that wasn’t there before.
