Sean Hughes
Sean Hughes is passionate about using holistic planning and tax-efficient strategies to help clients find financial confidence.
Sean embarked on his professional journey in 2011 as a financial advisor at Ameriprise Financial in Shorewood, Illinois. He worked for Ameriprise until 2014, when he started his own independent firm — Hughes Retirement & Financial Strategies — so he could serve his clients’ best interests and deliver financial advice that educates and empowers.
A native of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Sean is licensed to provide both insurance and investment products. He believes in comprehensive financial planning and strives to understand each client’s unique situation so he can meet their needs by using every available resource and optimizing tax efficiencies.
He has been featured on local news outlets including WGN’s Midday News and Business First AM at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), and he has educated other financial advisors on retirement planning and the importance of maximizing Social Security benefits.
Sean earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of St. Francis, where he was an all-conference football player. He also was an accomplished athlete at Bolingbrook High School, where he played three sports and earned all-state recognition in football.
In his free time, Sean enjoys watching sports, playing golf, traveling and spending time with friends and family. His parents still live in Bolingbrook.
