BookClubCalendar.com Launch Party – Books & Beers at The Book Nook

About this event

After a year of running my book club, I’ve realised two things: I love book clubs, and they’re weirdly hard to find. So I built BookClubCalendar.com – a single place to discover upcoming book discussions across the Netherlands, filterable by city and genre, whatever platform they’re hosted on, and to encourage more people to start and run their own book clubs.

To celebrate the launch (and to have a good excuse to gather book lovers), we’re meeting at The Book Nook – a cozy new bookshop near Centraal and already my favourite one in Amsterdam.

Come hang out, meet fellow book nerds, and maybe spark the next wave of book clubs and projects.

What to expect

• 🧠 Bookish conversation – chat about what you’ve been reading lately
• 📚 Inspiration for new book clubs – swap ideas, formats, and themes
• 🍺☕ Drinks & a cozy atmosphere – beers, tea, coffee, plus the bookshop’s own playlist
• ✏️ Low-key prompts & activities – gentle conversation starters to help everyone look back on their year of reading and share recommendations
• 🤝 Community – a chance to (re)connect with fellow bookworms in Amsterdam

This is a relaxed, social event – no required reading, no pressure, just bookish vibes.

💶 Support the bookshop:
The bookshop asks everyone to spend at least €5 on drinks and/or books during the event. You’ll pay this in advance on arrival and get a voucher, which you can immediately redeem at the bar/counter or towards a book.
