Due to the current global Covid-19 pandemic and resulting unpredictability regarding travel and our economies worldwide, the Presencing Institute has decided - as an exception - to host the June Presencing Foundation Program as an online offering.

From 9 - 11 June 2020 our Core Presencing Faculty, namely Martin Kalungu-Banda, Arawana Hayashi and Julie Arts, will be hosting the Foundation Program online, for a dedicated cohort to go through an intensive U process in real time together. This deep dive into Theory U -- a social technology for helping to bring about profound innovation and change -- will include:

pre-program conversation with each participant
live, interactive zoom calls throughout the days
an online platform to share resources & connect participants for small group work
online course materials, especially developed for this program
a diverse cohort of participants across sectors and regions

The group meeting hours will be between 7:30am and 2:00pm EDT (breaks included). Please dedicate the whole 3 days open for this retreat as there will be small group work outside of that time.

Overview

This three-day experiential workshop is for leaders and/or teams at all levels. It introduces concepts and practices of Theory U, a social technology for helping to bring about profound innovation and change, both within organizations and across societal systems.

The focus of this method is on sensing and actualising emerging future opportunities, both individually and collectively.

The program will also incorporate insights about applying Theory U to transforming business, society and self from Otto Scharmer and Katrin Käufer’s book, Leading from the Emerging Future: From Ego-System to Eco-System Economies (2013).

Participants will benefit most from this workshop by coming with a concrete project or challenge that they are, or will be, working on and/or by attending with one or more colleagues or stakeholders. If you work in a consultant or facilitator role, we encourage you to participate with a client. Whilst developing individual and collective leadership capacities, teams can simultaneously create a shared vision for their projects, engage with internal and external stakeholders, and prototype new ideas. Of course, it is also completely fine and valuable to participate individually!
