Authoritarianism, war, and the rise of the far right are threatening the existence and rights of LGBTIQ* communities.

For the new international publication «Pride Under Pressure», Quarteera e.V. invited activists from Georgia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Poland, and the organizers of Baltic Pride to share their experiences in the context of queer activism, Pride, and ongoing threats. The findings will be presented for the first time during the panel discussion and reflected on together.

The publication documents the experiences, strategies, and forms of resistance of queer organizations that are themselves affected by severe state repression, war, and queer hostility while continuing to fight for the visibility and rights of LGBTIQ* communities. The event will also address which strategies can contribute to strengthening the resilience of queer migrant communities in Germany, especially in light of the increasing attacks and disruptions by far right groups targeting Pride events.

Autoritarismus, Krieg und das Erstarken der extremen Rechte bedrohen die Existenz und die Rechte von LSBTIQ* Communities.

Für die neue internationale Publikation «Pride Under Pressure» hat Quarteera e.V. Aktivist*innen aus Georgien, Belarus, der Ukraine, Moldau, Polen und die Organisator*innen der Baltic Pride eingeladen, ihre Erfahrungen im Kontext von queeren Aktivismus, der Pride und immanenter Bedrohungslagen zu teilen. Die Ergebnisse werden im Rahmen der Podiumsdiskussion erstmals vorgestellt und gemeinsam reflektiert.

Die Publikation dokumentiert Erfahrungen, Strategien und Widerstandsformen queerer Organisationen, die selbst von massiver staatlicher Repression, Krieg und Queerfeindlichkeit betroffen sind und dennoch für die Sichtbarkeit und Rechte von LSBTIQ* Communities kämpfen. Mit der Veranstaltung soll auch diskutiert werden, welche Strategien zur besseren Resilienz von queer-migrantischen Communities in Deutschland beitragen können, auch in Anbetracht der vermehrten Angriffe und Störaktionen rechtsextremer Gruppen auf Pride Veranstaltungen.
