Overview

Learn about the negative impacts of AI, how to dismantle them, how to use AI responsibly and how to advocate for a responsible use.

AI is on the verge of changing our work and our lives fundamentally. It opens up completely new possibilities to work and create. But we need to discuss essential questions about ethics and sustainability. This includes grasping the societal effects of AI, tackling issues like data privacy or bias in algorithms, but also dismantling the massive environmental impacts. On the other hand: doesn’t AI offer the potential to help create more sustainable, fair and ethical digital experiences?

For us, the essential dilemma is not if AI should be used, but how and when its application can be made ethically, sustainable and beneficially for a better future in our projects.

This 2,5 hour Masterclass will discuss the negative impacts of Gen AI as well as positive opportunities and how to balance these in a responsible way. In a mixture of lecture parts and a practical workshop part, you will be provided with practical guidelines for the responsible use of AI and learn how to use the “Responsible AI Canvas” to evaluate AI use-cases.

For teams and organizations: I also offer this Masterclass/Workshop for teams, organizations or in unversity context, online or in person. Please get in touch and I am happy to discuss how to bring it to your organization.

What do former participants say:

"A special shout-out to Thorsten Jonas for his thought-provoking session on 'AI in UX.' He perfectly summed up a key takeaway for me: While AI may seem like a magical illusion, it's ultimately a limited machine." - Nur, Germany

"We discussed good use cases, the balance between positive opportunities and hidden costs, and how to apply frameworks like the 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝘃𝗮𝘀 to design responsibly. Thank you Thorsten Jonas for such inspiring and thoughtful session." - Gul, Denmark

"Thorstens enthusiasm was contagious and the session flew so very fast!
We explored how AI is transforming our industry and us, while shifting from optimization of work routines to deep philosophical discussions about the long-term impact on our industry— and future generations. As one of my teammates nicely put it “We started with some practical stuff but ended up in an existential crisis.”
I'm leaving with plenty of food for thought and excited to visit tomorrow’s conference where Thorsten Jonas will elaborate on the topic of Responsible AI." - Daria, Estonia
