The training is a beginner course that does not require ABAP knowledge. Experience with an object-oriented programming language as well as navigation in an SAP system is beneficial.

This course is a good start for instructors who want to learn the basics about SAP systems and ABAP as well as the basics of web development with SAP. In addition, concepts of object-oriented development are introduced. Participants of the training will learn how to develop applications, user interfaces, and database access using the Eclipse development environment. The latest SAP web technologies will also be presented: SAPUI5, an HTML5 and JavaScript-based framework, OData technology for web service development, and the Fiori user interface.

The ABAP programming language can be seen as the link between business and development. Mastering this language provides the ability to implement, customize, and change business processes in an ERP system, which is one of the core competencies in modern industry. This knowledge can also be used to modify existing SAP applications. Additionally, in connection with the latest web technologies, SAP offers the opportunity to develop standardized and modern user interfaces directly on the SAP system.
