Overview
Singing with body and soul
Singing puts you in a good mood.
And it brings people together.
Not only has this been proven by numerous studies, but each and every one of us has surely experienced it firsthand.
And yet, most people rarely get to enjoy singing with others.
Because they don’t dare to, or because they can’t or don’t want to commit to a choir with regular rehearsals and performances.
What distinguishes the Embodied Impro Choir from a conventional choir is that
- we, freshly assembled, forget what we think we know about our voices and experimentally engage with ourselves and each other anew
- we involve not only the vocal apparatus, but the entire body
we disregard traditional vocal ranges, hierarchies, and patterns - we trust our own creativity and ability to improvise
- we create our own improv pieces together within a 6-part cycle and develop versions of well-known songs that have never been heard before
Does that sound exciting?
Then come on by!
