Anne Davison, contemporary artist
My approach is friendly and relaxed - I believe everyone can be creative and have fun! I am and always have been passionate about the doing of art and how it makes you feel. The workshops I put on are a mix of art and wellbeing with the aim to introduce you to some simple art techniques in a calming, relaxing atmosphere. There are no such things as mistakes in my workshops, just opportunities to progress!
I originally studied Printed Textiles BA(Hons) graduating in 1984 and established a fashion textile design brand in Shoreditch in 1985, selling worldwide to the fashion industry.
I am a trained art teacher, and was Head of Art at an prestigious independent school in Cambridge for 9 years. Whist still teaching (under my married name of Anne Cunningham) and together with child psychotherapists Angela Amos and Aileen Webber I created Therapeutic Story StartUps, a range of illustrated resources to be used by child psychotherapists and published by Routledge Education.
Now working from my studio on the Thames, I have shifted my focus to producing original mixed media collages, stationery and homeware products, selling to retailers, interior designers and TV and film. My work can be seen in the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The Towner, Eastbourne, The Foundling Museum gallery shops, AA, McCains, Halifax adverts and Contemporary Collage Magazine
