MARCUS WOOLF from MWLs Creative Spaces
A career in the creative arts and education. Graduating in Theatre Arts I went on to design and make costumes, props and sets for regional theatres before long term illness took hold. After gaining a Masters PGCE degree in Primary Education (specialist in art & design and SEND) I worked in primary schools for several years before taking the leap to become a freelance Art Educator for various cultural and arts organisations.
Carer Highlights:
- Contracted designer at The Charles Cryer Theatre, Carshalton. Designing sets, props and costumes as well as taking the role of Wardrobe Manager and Stage Manager.
- Young Persons Producer at Orleans House Gallery. Heading up the SEND projects and Head of the Alternative Education Programme - supporting vulnerable students in gaining a GCSE in Art & Design.
- Lead Educator for the Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A), London. Designing education programmes and bespoke creative workshops for a variety of audiences - specialising in SEND, fashion design and fashion history, as well as theatre and performance.
- Educator at Wakefield Place, West Sussex - a step towards supporting young people in understanding global concerns through plant and fungi biology workshops and events.
- Independent Workshop Lead - with Woolf & Wild creative workshops and MLW's Creative Spaces.
