Description

WikidataCon is a convention organized for and by the Wikidata community, a special moment where we can meet, discuss, work together, have fun, celebrate!

~ Share knowledge and experience within the community ~

With two days of talks, workshops, demos, meetups, and social events, the diverse and awesome people that belong to the Wikidata community will be able to share their experiences, their favorite tools, learn from the others, discover new ways to create, enrich, reuse data from the free knowledge base.

If you edit Wikidata, make queries with SPARQL, build scripts, gadgets or external tools, reuse data from Wikidata with your software or your service, if you belong to an organization who wants to use or donate data, if you're working on open data, datajournalism, datavizualisation, open knowledge, civictech... you're welcome to the WikidataCon!

~ Important informations ~

Only 200 tickets are available. 100 tickets will be release from June 19th. 50 tickets for last-minute booking will be available from September 1st.

The entrance ticket for WikidataCon is free of charge.
It includes:

  • entrance for the 2 days of conference (October 28th and 29th)
  • access to the location and all the events
  • access to catering, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks during the 2 days of conference
  • access to the social event of Friday evening (location, food and non-alcoholic drinks)
  • WikidataCon goodies

It doesn't include:

  • traveling expenses: attendees have to book and pay their traveling to Berlin
  • accommodation: attendees have to book and pay their accommodation
  • alcoholic drinks

Depending on your country of residence, you may need to get a visa to be able to travel to Germany. Please note that the visa approval process can be long and time consuming. We recommend that you register and start with the visa application process as early as possible. Depending on your country of origin, you need to get an appointment at the German embassy or consulate. It is advisable to get one as soon as possible. Wikimedia Deutschland can provide from help for VISA applications. You can check the related field in the registration form, more informations will be asked.
