WEAVING MAGIC - weaving as meditation and tool for your intentions
In our busy lifes we think we do not have space for time-consuming crafts like weaving.
But what if we can use the time not only to create beautiful textiles, but to simultaneously
focus on important personal intentions, decision making and intuitive guidance?
This new DIY workshop is tailormade for beginners, in German & English language taught
by professional textile artist/university tutor Simone Meentzen.
Simone is a weaving instructor since 2014, trading her works at Textile Art Berlin in 2015 and 2016,
Ako Berlin and Spirit Weavers Gathering 2016 (USA). Ako will present new works from October 2016.
Weaving has been proven to calm the nervous system and is a magic way to find
your own inner creative voice. It is one of the oldest crafts and in native american tradition,
a tool to transfer sacred knownledge.
We will gather to weave our own individual and collective dreams.
Dreams of hope, love, self development, courage, kindness, strength, peace, joy, balance...
After the introduction, you will learn the basics of weaving with a handheld loom and practise
This is followed by a guided meditation which will help you to relax and create your artwork.
You can choose from a selection of beautiful natural and colorful wool, cotton and vintage threads.
Material package is included in the price. Vegan option available!
You will receive an inspirational booklet and take away useful information
how to focus and continue your new craft at home.
Please arrive a bit earlier, we will start on time with the Introduction at 12 pm (noon).
A 30 min beverage / snack break is around 1.30pm.
