The Quest has set sail!
Our thanks to those who joined us in five cities on January 23rd as we explored Heroic Cause, the first “island” on this learning adventure. Read on to share in some of the treasure we discovered; to learn why we decided it had to be a “pirate-y” quest; to meet the local hosts; and to get the low-down on the next island.

We’ll be exploring the island of Contribution, looking for what it means (and what it takes) for an organization not only to make and sell stuff, but to make a meaningful contribution to life's ability to thrive. This is where the rubber meets the road.

Why Pirate-y?
From the beginning, we’ve had a strong instinct to weave pirates into the Quest. There's something delightful about going in search of treasure. About adventuring in uncharted territory. And about being thrown in as part of a motley crew that sings songs, has each other’s backs, works hard, plays hard, shares in the booty, has a clear code of conduct, and has a very good time. Buried Treasure
We discovered plenty of treasure on our first island. We started with a short video, with several thrivability pioneers sharing what they've learned along their journey. Then, we found out why our organizations desperately need to step up their ambitions, and why there's more "hero" in each of us than we might think. (Read more in The Hidden Treasure of Heroic Cause.) We also found that Heroic Cause isn't just for non-profits and start-ups anymore. (Read more in The Life-Cycle of the Heroic Organization.)
