Dear Hacker & Tchibo lover,
we are happy that you have registered for our Hackathon and we would be absolutely ready to start with you!
As the situation of the coronavirus is getting worse and many of you have already contacted us worried about it, we have decided to postpone the Tchibo Hackathon until November.
We are doing this as a preventive measure and hope for your understanding and above all for your participation from November 5th to 7th.

TCHIBO HACKT AGAIN!
The #Tchibo Hackathon is an event to celebrate inspiration. More precisely: your inspiration.
We are looking for new digital solutions that will innovate and reinvent the consumer’s experience at Tchibo.
You have a wide range of topics to work on. Tchibo stands for inspiration, pre-selection and emotional and personal interaction. There is coffee as one key pillar and Non Food as a second. Apart from all relevant marketing touchpoints Tchibo customers use the online shop, the physical shops (~600 stores) as well as Tchibo branded shelf space in supermarkets (~19.000 supermarket touchpoints).

The five Tchibo challenges:
- How to improve and innovate the DIGITAL shopping experience across all touchpoints (webshop, stores and shelf spaces in supermarkets)?
- How to present the physical joy of “Kaffeegenuss” in a digital world?
- Which digital services help Tchibo to stay a relevant shopping destination - before, during and after sales?
- How could Tchibo become more attractive for the target group of “digital natives”?
- THINK BIG: Tchibo in 10 years from now. Your disruptive ideas are needed!
WHO CAN COME?
EVERYONE IS WELCOME - The word “Hackathon” may sound too techy, but remember this is an event to explore, experiment and learn by turning together creative ideas into projects and real prototypes. You can be an avid coffee consumer, a shopping lover, an entrepreneur in the making or simply a curious mind. #innovateordie
SOUNDS COOL. HOW DOES IT WORK?
Very easy. Every participant is given one minute of time, on Thursday afternoon, during the kick-off to present their idea to the rest of the crowd. Afterwards, we all get together in teams to start working. The venue will be open 24h, so you can hack as much as you can take. Meet interesting people, have fun, eat and drink, network and win prizes!
DO I NEED AN IDEA TO PARTICIPATE?
NOPE – not necessarily. We are happy if you are inspired and bring your enthusiasm to the event. You can join other teams and work together on newly developed ideas.
WHAT DOES IT COST ME?
Nothing, nada, zero. Everything at the event is free, so you only need to focus on what you’ll achieve over the weekend.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
A laptop, at best an idea, and motivation. The rest you get from us!
Do not forget your chargers!
ARE THERE ANY API’S WE CAN USE?
Not only coffee and food will boost your work: you will also have access to API’s from Tchibo and Statista to build your idea on.
