Description

Statistics and Data Science - 2 Days Crash Course with R

Lecturer: Dr. Alexander Krannich

The course is designed to teach the foundations of statistics and data science as well as the basic concepts of R programming. It is intended to enable the participant to apply the learned methods to real world tasks. The main focus of this course is on the safe and the correct application as well as interpretation of the learned methods.

Topics:

This course teaches the basic concepts of statistics and statistical testing based on examples of Student's t-test, Fisher's exact test, Chi-squared test etc. This knowledge will be extednded by regression models such as linear, logistic, poisson and cox regression. Further an overview about artificial intelligence respectively the machine learning field will be given by teacing basics about artificial neural networks and associated deep learning techniques (e.g. TensorFlow). All these methods will be covered theoretically and practically applied in R by using RStudio.
