About this event

Welcome to the 2nd international Stuttgart Conference on Automotive Production!

The first Stuttgart Conference on Automotive Production was held in November 2020 under the theme “Next Gen Mobility Production – Sustainability via Reconfigurability” as an international successor to the previous “Stuttgart conference on the future of automotive production“.

After SCAP2020 was crowned with success, we are very happy to announce that ARENA2036 will be hosting the second edition of the Stuttgart Conference on Automotive Production in November 2022 together with the Institute for Control Engineering of Machine Tools and Manufacturing Units (ISW) of the University of Stuttgart.

The aim of the conference is to address advanced technologies in robotics & automation, logistics and manufacturing innovations for future automotive production. The theme of this year’s conference is:

Towards Software-Defined Manufacturing and Resilient Supply Chains

We are very delighted to share latest information on who is going to join this year's SCAP2022. As key speakers, we proudly announce Susanne Kunschert (Managing partner Pilz), Prof. Bronwyn Fox (Chief Scientist CSIRO), Sven Hamann (CEO Bosch Connected Industry) and Prof. Dr. Alexander Verl (Head of Institute of ISW Universität Stuttgart) who will be giving exciting insights from scientific and industry viewpoint.

SCAP2022 will take place from November 16 – 18, 2022 at the research campus ARENA2036 in Stuttgart, Germany and will provide the opportunity for national and international scientists to present their latest research results, to exchange ideas, to establish new networks and to promote the exchange of information between science and practice.

More Scientific Topics:

  1. Software-Defined Manufacturing (The objective of Software-Defined Manufacturing (SDM) is to provide more generic and reconfigurable production systems, which can easily be modified at the software-level.)
  2. Resilient Production (in Post-Pandemic Production) (Resilience is the ability to remain efficient despite extreme external shocks such as the Covid-19 pandemic.)
  3. Data-driven Production & Logistics (Usage of production related data to enhance efficiency and uptime of production systems.)
  4. Sustainability in Automotive Production (New innovations/approaches to reduce the environmental impact for a sustainable future of automobiles.)
  5. User-centered Robotics and Automation  (User-centered Robotics and Automation aims to develop safe, and intuitive solutions for human-machine interaction.)
