About this Event
One of the most creative guitarists of his generation, Rossini Hayward is becoming increasingly well-known for his expressive performances, which are often full of his own arrangements of works never before attempted on the guitar. His latest CD release Stille Nacht: Christmas Carols for Guitar (released by NAXOS November 2020) has been met with immediate popularity. On Spotify alone within the first weeks of publication he has amassed in the region of one million streams. Rossini is an avid composer and has had a number of compositions published by Edition Margaux. His volume of arrangements Christmas Carols for Guitar, published by Ut Orpheus (October 2020) was sold out within three weeks and is currently on its second printing run.
This concert will begin with some beautiful short pieces by the Spanish guitarist and composer Fernando Sor. These will be followed by one of Rossini's Wagner arrangements and some arrangements of Chorals by Bach and Nielsen. In addition you will hear his remarkable version of Pachelbel's famous Canon and the world premiere of Rossini's composition Ethereal Variations.
