Prison, Probation & Perpetrator Programmes: Collaboration for Change

About this Event

As in previous years, WWP EN brings together international experts on domestic violence. In 2020, the focus of the Annual Conference is on the relationship of prison, probation and perpetrator work.
Perpetrator programmes are part of a wider strategy for preventing domestic and sexual violence, through fostering change as well as ensuring responsible risk assessment and management. Perpetrator programmes offered as part of the prison and probation system can pose a number of specific challenges – these may be related to the particular setting they are delivered in, to multi-agency work, or victim support.
The conference will explore these challenges and provide space for discussions on how to ensure that interventions are as effective and safe as possible. An important factor in this is strengthening cooperation between prison or probation services and community-based organisations where these deliver perpetrator programmes on behalf of the criminal justice system.
The first conference day is dedicated to perpetrator work in the probation context, while the second day looks closer at the chances and challenges of perpetrator programmes in prisons.
We are passionate about our work and the mission to end violence against women. If you value WWP EN, feel free to donate - we appreciate any support!
The event is two days: 02.09, 9:00-15:00 and 03.09., 9:30-15:00
