Photographic observations made in passing - casual moments that, upon closer inspection, reveal themselves to be dense visual situations.

People, machines, surfaces, body fragments, details. What connects these motifs is not a theme, but a gaze: a quiet, precise, unobtrusive gaze. The camera is the searching instrument, not the tool of staging.

It does not intervene, but asks:

What remains of the moment when it is understood not as an event, but as a state?

Eric Degenhardt is an internationally acclaimed industrial designer and trained architect, well known for his clean shapes, refined details and microarchitectures. In addition to his work as a designer and art director, he observes and filters the incidental beauty of the imperfect or the flawless.
