London Afrobeat Collective (live)

London Afrobeat Collective are powered by a promise to continue what afrobeat father Fela Kuti began.
From Europe to Africa, Glastonbury to ‘Felabration’, they deliver party-music born of their truly global DNA. The nine-strong collective from England, Italy, France, Congo, Argentina and New Zealand combine Fela, Parliament Funkadelic and Frank Zappa to create an addictive sound drawing on funk, jazz, rock, and dub to create something new and frankly indescribable.

In 2018, the beat goes on for festival and club crowds, energised by hook-heavy cuts from a back catalogue including 2015’s ‘Food Chain’. Produced by Leon Brichard (Ibibio Sound Machine, Plan B, Fela! the musical), with artwork by artist Ben Hito (George Clinton/Parliament/Funkadelic), the album received plaudits from (amongst others) Huey Morgan, Tom Ravenscroft, Craig Charles, Jamie Cullum, The Sunday Times, the London Evening Standard and a 4 star review in Songlines.

Now a regular feature at many of the major UK festivals, as well as festivals and clubs across Europe, they are guaranteed party-starters - any stage, anywhere. And if this sounds like something your fans want, let LAC know. They want to meet them.

Nigeria’s annual festival to celebrate the legacy of Fela Kuti – the pinnacle of LAC’s 2015 tour there being a landmark performance at the New Africa Shrine in Lagos State to over 10,000 people.

FOOTPRINT PROJECT (live)

Web: https://www.footprintproject.de/de/

Ten musicians. Ten friends. Ten stories.

The FOOTPRINT PROJECT is a ten-piece High Power Brass'n'Beats Dance Orchestra from Berlin. The wild bunch around frontwoman Rokhaya plays high-energy dance music. To assign their music to a genre is no easy feat, because when afrobeat, jazz, funk and breakbeats merge into a groove mosaic marked by sudden changes in tempo, rhythm and tone, genre boundaries and joints loosen alike. Surprising – unconventional - rarely comparable - always danceable! In short: Colorful sound with a guarantee to dance, jump and get neck pain!

The band's lineup is as unique as their music. Beatbox, drums, bass, keys and guitars build a crisp foundation for sharp brasslines and soulful vocals. The name is the game. The FOOTPRINT PROJECT wants to move and count the footprints on the dance floor after the concert.

December 2016 saw the the band's crowd-funded debut release "Leggi Leggi!" on Lalonova Records. Motivated by their fan's positive response they released their second album "Ask For Directions" in May 2018 and toured through Germany. Mostly because of their energetic live performances, the young band is slowly making a name for itself in the german festival scene. Most recently, the FOOTPRINT PROJECT accompanied soul legends "Earth, Wind & Fire" to their four Germany concerts in July 2018 as their opening act.
