About:
Half of Europe’s energy consumption is used for heating or cooling. However, in 2019, 58 % of the 105.7 million space heaters installed in EU-27 (that were > 61 million units) have been inefficient non-condensing oil and gas boilers. In order to achieve climate neutrality, the decarbonisation of the space heating and cooling in residential sector is therefore essential.
The REPLACE project partners are pleased to invite you to the final hybrid event (live and virtual) "Keeping the heat on in times of crisis – How to REPLACE inefficient fossil heating systems" to present the key findings of the project and discuss the framework conditions for replacement, exchanging old conventional fossil fuel systems with renewable ones.
This free-of-charge event is an excellent opportunity to learn how the phase-out of fossil-based heating systems can be brought forward in the European agenda and to find out more about modern renewable technologies.
What to expect:
Speakers from different countries and organisations will share their views on the best way to facilitate sustainable heating & cooling in Europe.
Among the speakers are representatives from the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications (formerly Policy Assistant at European Commission), the association Bioenergy Europe, the European Heat Pump Association, Euroheat & Power, and speakers from the REPLACE consortium, who will share the results of the last years.
