Introduction to the Functional Safety

This is the class where we introduce the functional safety and the applicable standard for the automotive sector (ISO 26262).

It will be explained how to calculate the Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) of a function and how it impacts the architecture of electronic subsystem and HW/SW lifecycle

An overview of the evolution of standard framework will be provided as well.

Francesco De Rosa has a master’s degree in electronic engineering and a post graduate master’s in design and development of embedded electronic systems and more than 15 years of experience as a functional safety manager and functional safety assessor in automotive, machinery and railway sectors.

He is member of the committees that participates at the definition of the ISO standards related to the functional safety and autonomous vehicles.

He is currently the Functional Safety Manager for ART SpA and responsible, as site manager, of ART Germany in Berlin.
