About this event
Have you ever desperately contemplated the French aisle of your local wine dealer, scanning through names such as "Muscadet-sur-lie", "Pic-Saint-Loup" or "Pouilly-Fuissé" and wondered how exactly one is supposed to know what kind of wine these are?
France is one of the most prestigious wine countries in the world, and home to a multitude of different grapes and wine styles. But, it is also one of the most difficult countries to understand - even for those that were born there. If you ask most French people, they'll tell you that they know a couple of appellations they like and stick to those when ordering wine.
In this introductory workshop, we will explore the biggest French wine regions, and the grape varieties and wine styles that they produce. Together, we will taste and describe 6 different still wines that are representative of these styles, and learn some of the vocabulary and words associated with them so you can shop and order French wine more confidently.
This is a great event for anyone who has an interest in wine and would like to better understand French wine. The workshop is intended for complete beginners and intermediate alike, and requires no other pre-requisite than curiosity and a thirst for wine!
The ticket includes:
- 6 glasses of wine (white / red)
- Small snacks (quiche, cheese, fruits, bread) / water
Attendance is limited to 14 people . Tickets are fully refundable up to 48 hours prior to the event, and partially up until 24 hours before.
The workshop will be run in English.
