Participate in the Barcamp to exchange ideas, receive feedback and get inspired by and with international game developers!

Wednesday, 05.05.2021, 02:00 p.m. - 04:30 p.m. CEST

New game concepts, ideas and projects are often created through the exchange with other people. For this reason, the Game Mixer Barcamp offers you the opportunity to bring ideas, topics and thoughts and discuss them together with other interested people from the games industry.

You have an idea or a specific topic that you would like to discuss with other people or you are just interested in the exchange with other international game developers?

In both cases - register now! -> You can specify your participation in the registration process.

A barcamp is an open event format, which can be best described as user-generated conference. This means that the content of the conference is still open at the beginning. It will only be determined on site by the participants. Thus, an AdHoc conference with the topics of the people participating in the barcamp is created. Although barcamps are loosely structured, there are some rules to be followed:

  1. A Barcamp is, what its participants / what you make of it!
  2. There doesn't have to be any input to your topic. One question is enough to host a session.
  3. Keep your session proposal short and to the point.
  4. A session can happen if it interests at least two people.
  5. One person can offer multiple sessions.
  6. Each session will be documented.
  7. It is okay to leave a session in the middle.

Participate in the Peer Mentoring to present your game/prototype to get feedback or give feedback to others.

Thursday, 06.05.2021, 01:00 p.m. - 03:30 p.m. CEST

You got stuck with your idea, you dived too deep into your own concept or you are looking for some fellows who can help with a specific thing? You don't know if the music is appealing or have troubles with storytelling? Often you need some change of perspective to develop your game further. That's why we created the Peer Mentoring Module - to learn from each other and get to know interesting people from the games industry in other countries.

In this session, you are asked to shortly present your game / your prototype and your issue at hand. Afterwards, people can share their thoughts and provide direct feedback. In the next round you'll change roles and give feedback to others.

In order to save time in the live mentoring, we'll provide short let's play videos on the Game Mixer website, so everybody can prepare for that session in advance by diving into each other's games. In order to show your game to other participants, you are welcome to share a YouTube link to your game presentation (max. five minutes) with us in the following registration process.

Game Mixer is an acceleration program for young generation game developers. Consisting of multiple different modules, the program offers capacity-building, coaching as well as networking possibilities for the game developers. The program aims to support small gaming studios to create international contacts and thus reach for international growth. The exchange between the game developers from different Baltic Sea region countries enables the exchange of best practices between the countries and sub-regions.

Tickets to the Game Mixer Days events are limited. Register now!

The Game Mixer Barcamp is a project from Goethe-Institut e.V. with support of Creative Ports, an Interreg Baltic Sea Region Project financed by the EU-Government.
