Frauen standen in der Geschichte lange Zeit im Schatten der Männer, auch in Musik und Kunst. Auftritte vor großem Publikum waren oft untersagt. Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel ist eine dieser Frauen - ihr ist dieses Event gewidmet. Genauso wie den zeitgenössischen Komponistinnen, die ihre Musik präsentieren und über Videoporträts Einblick in ihr Leben als Künstlerinnen gewähren.

The new music event puts contemporary female artists and one female composer of the 19th century, their lives and works in the spotlight

On September 23rd 2021 the conductor Cecilia Castagneto will present the world premiere of the multimedia event "Women in the Shadow" live at the Golzheim Club in Düsseldorf. You can look forward to exclusively composed works by five international female composers and a tribute to the artist Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel.

For a long time in history, women were in the shadow of men, also in music and art. Performances in front of a large audience were often prohibited. Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel is one of these women - this event is dedicated to her. Just like the contemporary female composers, who present their music and provide insight into their lives as artists through video portraits.
