Program

Part 1: 17:30 -19:30

We will kick off with an introduction of Fashion Revolution movement and explain ways how you too can contribute. We will then show the award-winning documentary RIVERBLUE and have Kornit Digital, an Israel based technology company, present its innovative way of digital textile printing.

Part 2: 19:45 – 21:00

With a motto “buy less, choose well and make it last” from Vivienne Westwood, in the second part of the event we will present two sustainable fashion startups, Düsseldorf based Wunderwerk and Amsterdam based Rhumaa, who will share their values and entrepreneurial stories. We will close the official part of the evening with a panel discussion where together with Center for Sustainable Consumption and Production we will debate the challenges and opportunities that the fashion industry faces and how we as consumers can make better informed decisions.

Get-together: 21:00 – 22:00

Our food sponsor Manufactum brot&butter Düsseldorf will invite you to enjoy some of their exquisite breads and pastries and locally sourced organic foods.

We further thank our sponsors HSBC Germany, Kornit Digital and Lycka for their good spirit!

Fashion Revolution is a global movement that runs all year, celebrating fashion as a positive influence, raising awareness of the fashion industry’s most pressing issues, showing that change is possible and celebrating those who are on a journey to create a more ethical and sustainable future for fashion. This year’s campaign marks the 5th year anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory collapse, which shook the fashion world and ignited the world’s biggest fashion activism movement for a fairer, safer, fashion industry.

RIVERBLUE movie: Following international river conservationist, Mark Angelo, RIVERBLUE spans the globe to infiltrate one of the world’s most pollutive industries, fashion. Narrated by clean water supporter Jason Priestley, this groundbreaking documentary examines the destruction of our rivers, its effect on humanity, and the solutions that inspire hope for a sustainable future.
